2009 has been a very successful year for Musion, seeing them walk away as winners from both the 2009 LiveCom Awards and the 2009 Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards. Musion were recognised for their achievements in the International Entertainment Experience category and the Advanced Video Services Innovation category respectively. Congratulations must also be extended to Square Zero, who were highly commended for their work on Frank Sinatra , and a flight simulator, adding to the ever-growing collection of impressive collaborations with Musion. Musion is proud to announce that it came away as the winner of the ‘International Entertainment Experience Award’ at this year’s IVCA LiveCom Awards 2009 at the Brewery, London. The IVCA LiveCom Awards, sponsored by drpgroup, are one of the UK’s most prestigious award programmes for the Live Events and Experiential Marketing industry, made more so by the fact that work is judged by Live Events experts independently and without knowledge of the entrants. The IVCA LiveCom Awards judges stated: “This was a clever adaptation of technology to deliver multi-site real time entertainment experience. The event created tremendous energy and enthusiasm from its target audience.” Ian O’Connell, Director of Musion, commented: “We are delighted and honoured to win at the highly prestigious LiveCom Awards. The high volume of fans in attendance at the Tokio Hotel gigs is testament to the status of holographic telepresence as a fantastic new video medium and this recognition highlights our pioneering approach to developing leading technology in the 21st century.” Furthermore, with the number of YouTube hits for the Tokio Hotel virtual tour performances soaring the 500,000 mark this month, the credentials of viral marketing for this type of event are ever strengthened. In addition to the LiveCom Awards, Musion were also proud to win the “Advanced Video Services Innovation” award at the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards in 2009, for a pioneering project which showed the world’s first live interactive 3D hologram communication to be demonstrated from a permanently installed line connection.
